Terms of service
Terms of Service
Last updated: 14/07/26
These Terms of Service apply to your use of the Murder Mittens Survivors Club website and to purchases made through our online store.
In these Terms, “MMSC”, “Murder Mittens Survivors Club”, “we”, “us” and “our” means:
Trading name: Murder Mittens Survivors Club
Email: murdermittenssurvivorsclub@gmail.com
By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the website or place an order.
Nothing in these Terms removes, limits or replaces any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
1. About Murder Mittens Survivors Club
Murder Mittens Survivors Club is an archive-style brand documenting domestic feline incidents, survivor accounts, subject behaviour, recovered evidence, survival doctrine and related field equipment.
Our products may include printed archive issues, cards, stationery, patches, apparel, mugs, stickers, digital content, limited releases, subscription items, and other MMSC goods.
Products are intended for human use unless clearly stated otherwise. MMSC products are not cat toys unless expressly described as cat-safe toys.
2. Who Can Buy From Us
You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian, to place an order.
By placing an order, you confirm that:
- the information you provide is accurate and complete;
- you are authorised to use the payment method provided;
- you are buying as a consumer unless you clearly tell us otherwise;
- you will not use the website or products for unlawful purposes.
We may refuse or cancel an order where we reasonably believe it is fraudulent, abusive, unlawful, placed in bad faith, or in breach of these Terms.
3. Product Information
We make reasonable efforts to describe and display our products accurately.
However, product images, colours, textures, dimensions, packaging and finishes may vary slightly depending on screen settings, production methods, printing processes, materials and batch variation.
For handmade, small-batch, printed, made-to-order or limited-release items, minor differences between batches may occur. These differences do not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty, damaged, misdescribed, or not as it should be.
Any props, background objects, staging items or decorative materials shown in product photography are not included unless expressly stated in the product description.
4. Prices, Taxes and Charges
Product prices are shown on the website in the currency displayed at checkout.
Prices may change from time to time. The price payable is the price shown at checkout when you place your order.
Delivery charges, taxes, duties and any other applicable charges will be shown or explained before you confirm your order where required.
If we discover an obvious pricing error, we may contact you to ask whether you wish to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order. We are not required to supply goods at an obvious pricing error.
5. Orders and Contract Formation
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy the selected goods or services.
After you place an order, you should receive an order confirmation email. This confirms that we have received your order, but it does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.
A contract is formed when we accept your order. Acceptance may occur when we dispatch the goods, provide access to digital content, confirm a preorder, or otherwise confirm that the order has been accepted.
We may refuse or cancel an order before acceptance if:
- the item is out of stock;
- there is a pricing or product-description error;
- payment is not authorised;
- delivery is not available to your address;
- the order appears fraudulent, abusive or unlawful;
- you have breached these Terms;
- circumstances beyond our control prevent fulfilment.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled item or order.
6. Payment
Payment must be made using the payment methods available at checkout.
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment-card details ourselves.
You must not attempt to pay using a payment method you are not authorised to use.
If a payment is reversed, disputed, charged back or fails after an order has been placed, we may pause fulfilment, cancel the order, recover goods where lawful, or take reasonable steps to recover sums owed.
7. Discount Codes and Promotions
Discount codes, promotions and offers are subject to availability and may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time.
Unless stated otherwise:
- discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash;
- only one discount code may be used per order;
- discount codes cannot be applied retrospectively;
- discount codes may be limited by product, customer, region, date, stock or order value.
We may cancel or refuse a discount where we reasonably believe it has been misused, shared in breach of its terms, generated by error, or applied fraudulently.
8. Gift Cards, Store Credit and Vouchers
If we offer gift cards, store credit or vouchers, they will be subject to any additional terms stated at the time of issue.
Gift cards and store credit are not normally exchangeable for cash unless required by law.
Promotional credit may have an expiry date, product restrictions or other limits, which will be explained when issued.
9. Delivery
Delivery options, estimated dispatch times, delivery charges and available regions are shown on the website or at checkout.
Delivery estimates are not guarantees unless we expressly say otherwise.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. We are not responsible for delays, failed delivery or loss caused by incorrect or incomplete address information supplied by you.
If a parcel is returned to us because of an incorrect address, failed collection, refusal, unpaid customs charges, or delivery failure not caused by us, we may ask you to pay reasonable redelivery costs before resending the order.
If your order is lost, damaged, incomplete or delayed, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so we can investigate and help resolve the issue.
10. International Orders, Customs and Import Charges
Where international delivery is available, your order may be subject to customs checks, import VAT, duties, taxes, handling fees or other charges in the destination country.
Unless expressly stated at checkout, you are responsible for paying any import duties, taxes, customs charges and local handling fees charged by your country.
We are not responsible for delays caused by customs, border checks or local delivery processes.
If you refuse to pay import charges and the parcel is returned to us, we may deduct from any refund the reasonable costs we incur, unless the law in your country says otherwise.
11. Risk and Ownership
For consumer purchases, responsibility for goods generally passes to you when the goods are delivered to you, or to a person you nominate to receive them.
Ownership of physical goods passes to you once we have received full payment and the goods have been dispatched, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
12. Cancellation, Returns and Refunds
Consumers in the UK and EU generally have a legal right to cancel an online order for physical goods within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason, subject to certain exceptions.
Our Returns & Refunds Policy explains:
- how to cancel an order;
- how to return goods;
- who pays return postage;
- when refunds are processed;
- which items may be excluded from change-of-mind returns;
- what happens if an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
Our Returns & Refunds Policy forms part of these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms or in our Returns & Refunds Policy limits your statutory rights.
13. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect, misdescribed, not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose, or otherwise do not conform to the contract, you may have legal rights to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
Please contact us as soon as reasonably possible with your order number, a description of the issue and photographs where helpful.
We may ask you to return the item or provide reasonable evidence of the issue so we can assess the appropriate remedy.
Where a fault is accepted, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law.
We are not responsible for faults caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, failure to follow care instructions, accidental damage, unauthorised alteration, third-party repair, or damage occurring after delivery, unless the issue was already present or otherwise covered by applicable consumer law.
14. Digital Content
If we sell or provide digital content, such as downloads, digital archive editions, printable files or other electronic materials, any specific access terms will be shown on the relevant product page.
Where you ask us to provide digital content immediately, and you expressly acknowledge that you will lose your cancellation right once supply begins, you may lose the right to cancel that digital-content purchase after access or download starts.
You must not copy, resell, redistribute, upload, share, commercially exploit, modify or reproduce digital content unless we expressly allow it in writing.
15. Preorders, Limited Releases and Made-to-Order Items
Some MMSC products may be sold as preorders, limited releases, small-batch drops or made-to-order items.
Where this applies, the product page will explain the expected dispatch window or production status.
Estimated dates may change due to production, supplier, shipping or quality-control issues. If a significant delay occurs, we will aim to update affected customers.
Limited edition, preorder, small-batch or made-to-order status does not remove your statutory rights.
Personalised or clearly custom-made items may be excluded from change-of-mind cancellation rights where the law permits, but this does not affect your rights if the item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed.
16. Subscriptions
If we offer subscriptions, recurring boxes, recurring archive issues or membership products, additional subscription terms may apply.
Those terms will explain:
- billing frequency;
- renewal dates;
- cancellation process;
- what is included;
- skipped, paused or failed payments;
- address changes;
- dispatch windows;
- refunds for renewals;
- stock limits and substitutions.
Any subscription terms will form part of these Terms.
17. Product Safety and Care
You must use products responsibly and in line with any care instructions, safety warnings or product descriptions provided.
Unless clearly stated otherwise:
- MMSC products are for humans, not animals;
- packaging materials are not toys;
- small parts, badges, pins, patches, stickers, cords or accessories should be kept away from children and animals where they may pose a choking, ingestion, entanglement or injury risk;
- mugs, glassware or ceramics should be checked before use and not used if cracked, chipped or damaged;
- apparel should be washed and cared for according to the care label;
- vinyl, stickers and decals should be applied only to suitable surfaces and removed carefully.
You are responsible for checking that a product is suitable for your intended use before using it.
18. User Accounts
You may be able to create a customer account.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for any activity that takes place through your account.
You must contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe it has been used fraudulently, abusively, unlawfully, or in breach of these Terms.
19. User-Generated Content and Submissions
If you submit content to MMSC, including incident reports, photographs, videos, captions, reviews, testimonials, comments, social media tags or archive submissions, our User-Generated Content & Submission Policy applies.
By submitting content, you confirm that:
- you created the content or have permission to submit it;
- you have permission from any identifiable people shown or named;
- no animal or person was harmed, distressed, provoked, frightened or placed at risk to create the content;
- the content does not infringe another person’s rights;
- MMSC may use the content in line with our User-Generated Content & Submission Policy.
We may reject, edit, moderate, remove or decline to use submissions at our discretion.
20. Reviews and Comments
If you leave a review, comment or public response, it must be honest, lawful and based on your genuine experience.
You must not post content that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, misleading, defamatory, obscene, spam, fraudulent, copied from another source, or harmful to animals or people.
We may remove or moderate reviews or comments that breach these Terms, our User-Generated Content & Submission Policy, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
We will not remove a genuine negative review simply because it is negative.
21. Acceptable Use of the Website
You must not use the website to:
- break the law;
- commit fraud;
- send malicious code;
- interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- scrape, copy or harvest content or data without permission;
- abuse, harass or threaten others;
- infringe intellectual property rights;
- submit false, misleading or harmful content;
- attempt to bypass payment, checkout, moderation or security systems;
- place orders using false information or unauthorised payment methods.
We may restrict, suspend or block access to the website where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.
22. Intellectual Property
All MMSC names, logos, designs, artwork, graphics, images, product concepts, written copy, archive language, website content, product descriptions, packaging, labels, digital files and other materials are owned by or licensed to MMSC unless stated otherwise.
You may view and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, licence, modify, create derivative works from, use commercially, or exploit MMSC content without our prior written permission.
Buying a product does not give you ownership of our intellectual property.
23. Third-Party Links and Services
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, payment providers, delivery services, apps or social media pages.
We are not responsible for the content, policies, security, availability or practices of third-party services.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
24. Website Availability
We aim to keep the website available and working properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may suspend, withdraw, update or change parts of the website without notice for maintenance, security, operational, legal or business reasons.
We are not responsible for losses caused by website unavailability except where we are legally responsible.
25. Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control.
This may include postal disruption, courier delays, supplier failure, production issues, extreme weather, fire, flood, power failure, cyber incidents, strikes, border delays, customs disruption, government action, illness, epidemics, pandemics, war, civil unrest, or other events beyond our control.
If an event outside our control affects your order, we will contact you where reasonably possible and take reasonable steps to reduce the impact.
26. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of your statutory consumer rights.
We are not responsible for:
- losses that were not reasonably foreseeable;
- business losses where you buy as a consumer;
- loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity or goodwill;
- damage caused by misuse of products;
- failure to follow care instructions or safety information;
- losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by you;
- losses caused by third-party services outside our control.
If you buy as a business customer, our total liability to you will be limited to the amount paid for the relevant order, unless the law does not allow such a limitation.
27. Personal Data
We use personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you may have.
By using the website or placing an order, you acknowledge that your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
28. Complaints and Customer Support
If you have a complaint, please contact us at:
Email: murdermittenssurvivorsclub@gmail.com
Please include your order number, a clear description of the issue, and what outcome you are seeking.
We aim to respond to customer service enquiries within 72 hours although response times may vary during launches, limited drops, holidays or high-volume periods.
29. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The version in force at the time you place an order will apply to that order unless a change is required by law.
The latest version of these Terms will be available on our website.
30. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living in Scotland, Northern Ireland, the European Union, or another country, you may also have mandatory consumer protections and rights in your place of residence. Nothing in these Terms removes those mandatory rights.
Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer law allows you to bring proceedings in another part of the UK, the European Union, or your country of residence.
31. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy, Shipping Policy, User-Generated Content & Submission Policy, and any product-specific terms, form the agreement between you and MMSC for use of the website and purchases from the store.
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.
