This Subscription Cancellation Policy applies to recurring Murder Mittens Survivors Club subscription products, including the MMSC Archive Subscription Box and any other recurring physical product subscription offered through our store.
In this policy, “MMSC”, “we”, “us” and “our” means Murder Mittens Survivors Club.
Nothing in this policy removes, limits or replaces any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
1. How the MMSC Subscription Works
The MMSC subscription is a recurring physical product subscription.
Each subscription box is prepared around a scheduled dispatch date. To make each issue, we may need to order printed materials, packaging, limited-run items, field equipment, archive inserts, and other supplies before dispatch.
Because of this, each box has a preparation period before it is sent.
2. Key Definitions
Dispatch date means the date, or estimated date range, when the relevant subscription box is expected to leave MMSC.
Lock date means the final date by which you must cancel, pause, skip, or change your subscription to stop the next scheduled box.
Locked box means a subscription box that has passed its lock date and has entered final preparation.
Future boxes means subscription boxes after the locked box.
3. Cancellation Cut-Off
To stop your next scheduled subscription box, you must cancel your subscription at least 21 calendar days before the scheduled dispatch date.
This 21-day period allows us to order supplies, reserve stock, prepare printed materials, and package the issue.
Where the law requires a longer cancellation or withdrawal period for you, we will honour the legal period that applies.
Where the law allows us to apply the 21-day cut-off, we will apply it.
4. Cancelling Before the Lock Date
If you cancel before the lock date, your cancellation will apply to the next scheduled box and all future boxes.
You will not be charged for that box if payment has not yet been taken.
If payment has already been taken for a box that has not passed its lock date, we will refund that payment unless another lawful exception applies.
5. Cancelling On or After the Lock Date
If you cancel on or after the lock date, the next scheduled box may already be in final preparation.
In that case, your cancellation will normally apply after that locked box has been dispatched.
This means:
- the locked box may still be sent;
- any payment already taken for the locked box may not be refunded purely because you cancelled after the lock date;
- your subscription will be cancelled for future boxes after the locked box;
- no further recurring payments will be taken after the cancellation has taken effect.
This does not affect any statutory cancellation, withdrawal, return, refund, faulty-goods, or legal guarantee rights you may have.
6. Statutory Cancellation and Withdrawal Rights
If you are buying as a consumer in the United Kingdom, European Union, or another region with mandatory consumer cancellation rights, those rights still apply.
For physical goods bought online, you may have a legal right to cancel or withdraw from the purchase within a specified period.
Where you exercise a valid statutory right to cancel or withdraw, we will handle the cancellation, return, and refund in line with our Returns & Refunds Policy and applicable law.
You may be responsible for the direct cost of returning non-faulty goods where the law allows and where we have told you this in advance.
Faulty, damaged, incorrect, or misdescribed goods are handled separately from change-of-mind cancellations.
7. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Subscription Boxes
If your subscription box arrives faulty, damaged, incomplete, incorrect, or not as described, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Please include:
- your order number;
- a description of the issue;
- photographs of the item and packaging where helpful.
Where a fault or fulfilment issue is accepted, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law. This may include replacement, repair, missing item dispatch, partial refund, full refund, or another appropriate remedy.
Cancelling your subscription does not remove your rights in relation to faulty, damaged, incorrect, or misdescribed goods.
8. How to Cancel Your Subscription
You can cancel your subscription by using any subscription management link or customer account tool made available through our store.
You can also contact us at:
Email: murdermittenssurvivorsclub@gmail.com
Please include:
- your name;
- order number, if available;
- subscription email address;
- a clear statement that you want to cancel your subscription.
You do not need to give a reason to cancel.
A cancellation request is treated as received when it reaches us through an approved cancellation method.
9. Confirmation of Cancellation
We will confirm your cancellation by email.
Your cancellation is not intended to affect any order already dispatched or any locked box already in final preparation, unless applicable law gives you the right to cancel or return that order.
Please keep your cancellation confirmation for your records.
10. Pausing, Skipping or Changing a Subscription
Where available, you may be able to pause, skip, change, or update your subscription.
To affect the next scheduled box, any pause, skip, address change, product change, or subscription adjustment must be completed before the lock date.
Changes made on or after the lock date may only apply to future boxes after the locked box.
11. Address Changes
You are responsible for keeping your delivery address up to date.
Address changes must be made before the lock date to guarantee they apply to the next scheduled box.
If you update your address after the lock date, we will try to apply the change, but we cannot guarantee this if the box is already being prepared, packed, labelled, or dispatched.
We are not responsible for delays, failed delivery, or loss caused by incorrect or incomplete address information supplied by you.
12. Failed Payments
If a recurring payment fails, we may attempt to take payment again using the payment method attached to your subscription.
If payment is not completed by the relevant deadline, we may pause, skip, or cancel the affected box or subscription.
We are not required to dispatch a subscription box until payment has been successfully received.
13. Price Changes
If the subscription price changes, we will provide notice where required by law or by the terms of the subscription platform.
Price changes will not affect boxes that have already been paid for unless we tell you otherwise and applicable law allows it.
If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the relevant lock date.
14. Dispatch Date Changes
Dispatch dates may occasionally change because of supplier delays, production issues, postal disruption, stock shortages, quality control, illness, weather, or other events outside our reasonable control.
If a dispatch date changes significantly, we will aim to notify affected subscribers.
If a delay materially affects the subscription box, we may offer one or more of the following:
- revised dispatch date;
- option to keep the order active;
- option to cancel the affected box where appropriate;
- refund where required by law;
- replacement or alternative item where agreed.
15. Limited Stock and Substitutions
Subscription boxes may include limited-run, small-batch, printed, handmade, or supplier-dependent items.
We aim to supply the contents described, but we may substitute an item where necessary due to stock, production, supplier, or quality issues.
Any substitution will be of equal or greater intended value where reasonably possible.
We will not use substitutions to materially change the nature of the subscription box without good reason.
This does not affect your rights if the box is faulty, incorrect, misdescribed, or not as advertised.
16. Personalised or Custom Items
Some subscription products may include personalised or custom-made items.
Where an item is made to your specification or clearly personalised, your change-of-mind cancellation rights may be limited where the law allows.
This does not affect your rights if the personalised or custom item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, or misdescribed.
Any personalised or custom elements will be identified on the relevant product page where applicable.
17. Refunds After Cancellation
Cancelling your subscription stops future subscription renewals according to this policy.
It does not automatically refund boxes that have already been dispatched or locked for preparation.
Refunds will be handled in line with:
- this Subscription Cancellation Policy;
- our Returns & Refunds Policy;
- any product-specific terms shown at purchase;
- any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
Where a refund is due, we will refund using the original payment method unless we agree otherwise.
18. No Minimum Term Unless Stated
Unless the product page clearly states otherwise, MMSC subscriptions do not have a minimum term.
You can cancel future boxes in line with this policy.
If we introduce prepaid plans, fixed-term subscriptions, founding member plans, or minimum-term subscriptions, the product page will explain the additional terms before you subscribe.
19. Abuse, Fraud and Improper Cancellation Requests
We aim to handle cancellations fairly.
We may investigate, pause, restrict, or refuse non-statutory goodwill requests where we reasonably believe there is abuse, fraud, misleading information, repeated improper claims, payment misuse, chargeback abuse, or bad-faith behaviour.
We will not use this section to deny a valid statutory cancellation, withdrawal, refund, faulty-goods remedy, legal guarantee claim, or other mandatory consumer right.
20. Relationship With Other Policies
This policy should be read alongside our:
- Terms of Service;
- Returns & Refunds Policy;
- Shipping & Delivery Policy;
- Privacy Policy;
- Product Safety & Care information;
- any product-specific subscription terms shown at checkout.
If there is a conflict between this policy and mandatory consumer law, mandatory consumer law will apply.
21. Summary
To stop the next MMSC subscription box, cancel at least 21 calendar days before the scheduled dispatch date.
Cancellations after that point will normally stop future boxes after the locked box.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
No subject is considered resolved.
No renewal should be unexpected.
